The World Championship Qualifier – National (WCQ – National) is your chance to be crowned the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) National Champion! Duelists within each eligible Latin American country compete to become their nation’s Champion and represent their nation at either the Central America or South America Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship Qualifier (WCQ) 2024! Top finishers from the WCQ – National will be invited to either the Central or South America WCQ 2024, based on their country of residence.
Here you’ll find information about participating in these exciting events! Information will be added as it becomes available, so please check back frequently for the latest updates.
All WCQ – National events will be open to all Duelists. If you have previously earned an invite to the WCQ, the cost to enter the WCQ – National is waived. Duelists will not receive any booster packs but will have the opportunity to be crowned the 2024 Champion of that Nation. Duelists who have yet to earn an invite, and those with an invite that choose to forgo their free entry, can pay the equivalent of $15.00 USD in local currency to receive the equivalent in booster packs from our latest booster release Legacy of Destruction and registration to the event. Duelists must be a resident of the host country to participate in the WCQ – National if one is being held in your country. WCQ – National events will take place throughout Latin America during the dates of May 4th – June 9th, 2024.
If your country does not have a WCQ – National, in order to earn an invite to the Central or South America 2024 WCQ, you are welcome to participate in any of the WCQ – National events in Latin America or the Regional Qualifiers in the United States.
The WCQ – National events have been broken down into three groups (A, B, and C) and each group has its own prize pool. Groups are assigned based on the 2023 WCQ – National events’ attendance. Help make your country obtain a Group A classification in 2025 by participating this year! To reach a higher classification next year, your WCQ – National must have a minimum of the following attendance in 2024:
Group A – 301 players
Group B – 151 players
Group C – 65 players
In addition to all the great prizes that will be awarded, all WCQ – National events have an exclusive design for the Top Cut Game Mat awarded to the best Duelists of each country! All Group A WCQ – National participants will also receive a WCQ – National Field Center Card (FCC)**. Plus, Duelists who pre-register and turn in their valid Deck List on Friday of their event will receive a random pre-registration Yu-Gi-Oh! Coin*!

In addition to the WCQ – National, each of the above countries in Groups A, B and C will be hosting a Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Dragon Duel National on the same day. Participants must be born in 2010 or later and are required to provide proof of age to participate in a Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Dragon Duel National. This event is open to the public and is free of charge.
The winner of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Dragon Duel National event will receive complimentary travel and accommodations to the Latin America WCQ for their region, where they can choose to compete in either the all ages World Championship Qualifier OR the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Dragon Duel Championship! Please note, however, that they cannot compete in both.
If the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Dragon Duel National event has 21 or more Dragon Duelists participating, then the top 2 Dragon Duelists will earn complimentary travel and accommodations to the Latin America WCQ for their region. The Dragon Duel Championship is open to all Dragon Duelists (Duelists born in 2010 or later) and is held alongside the WCQ.
If a Dragon Duelist earned an invite at a Dragon Duel tournament hosted at select Regional Qualifiers, WCQ – National events in Latin America, and YCS events throughout the Americas, they have the choice to use that invite for the all ages WCQ, which are open to all Duelists with an invite, or participate in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Dragon Duel Championship.
- Dragon Duelists will compete against one another at the Regional, WCQ – National, and YCS level.
- Dragon Duelists will earn invites to the all ages WCQ.
- Any Dragon Duelist that earns an invite to the all ages WCQ can choose to participate in the Dragon Duel Championship instead of the all ages WCQ, but they will not be able to compete in both.
